Our AML and Verification Policy
We hold our licence from the Malta Gaming Authority, and that licence comes with obligations we take seriously. This page explains, in plain terms, how BassBet Casino verifies who you are, when we ask for extra information, and what happens if verification is not completed.
Our Anti Money Laundering Commitment
Money laundering and the financing of crime are real risks in any gaming environment, and our licence obliges us to run controls that keep our platform clean. Since we launched in 2024, we have applied the anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing framework of our licence jurisdiction to every account, without exception. That framework shapes how we onboard players, how we monitor deposits and withdrawals, and when we escalate a concern.
In practice this means we must know who our players are, understand where their funds come from when the amounts justify the question, and report suspicious activity to the relevant authority. We do not treat these obligations as paperwork. They protect you as much as they protect us, because a verified player base is the strongest defence against fraud, account takeover and stolen payment details being used on our platform.
When We Verify Your Account
Verification points
Verification happens at defined moments rather than at random. We check your details when you register, we complete full identity verification before your first withdrawal, and we re-verify at thresholds set by our licence and by our own risk assessment. A larger withdrawal, a change of payment method or inconsistent account information will each trigger a fresh check.
- Registration: we confirm your email, date of birth and that your jurisdiction is not on our restricted list, which includes the USA, UK, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Portugal and Cyprus.
- First withdrawal: full KYC, covering identity, address and payment method ownership.
- Thresholds: cumulative deposits or withdrawals reaching levels set by our AML risk framework.
- Events: new payment method, address change, or behaviour flagged by our monitoring systems.
| Check | What we look at | Typical documents |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Name, date of birth, photo | Passport, national ID card or driving licence |
| Address | Your residential address | Utility bill, bank statement or council rates notice issued within the last 3 months |
| Payment method | That the method belongs to you | Photo of the card showing the last four digits, or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet |
How Verification Works Step by Step
We keep the process short and contained within your account, so nothing travels by email or live chat. Upload your documents through the verification section of your profile and our compliance team reviews them in order of receipt.
Your files are protected with encryption in transit and at rest, access is restricted to trained compliance staff, and we never ask for passwords, full card numbers or one-time codes. Any request for those details is not from us, and you should report it to [email protected] immediately.
- Open the verification section of your account and select the document type you are providing.
- Photograph or scan the original document, ensuring all four corners are visible and the text is readable.
- Upload the file and wait for the status to change; standard reviews are completed within 24 hours, and complex cases can take up to 3 business days.
- If anything is unclear, we contact you through your account inbox with a specific request, never a vague one.
Why We Ask for Source of Funds
When the money moving through an account is large relative to typical play, or when our monitoring systems flag a pattern we cannot explain, we may ask you to show where those funds originated. This is not an accusation. It is a licence obligation that applies to all operators under the Malta Gaming Authority, and it is triggered by amounts and patterns rather than by the person.
Acceptable evidence includes payslips, a salary statement, a tax assessment, a bank statement showing the relevant credits, or documentation of a business income or an asset sale. We only request what the trigger requires, we review it against that specific question, and we do not use it for any other purpose. Requests of this kind are rare, and most players will never receive one.
How We Monitor Your Transactions
Withdrawal rules
Every deposit and withdrawal is screened by automated systems, with our compliance team reviewing anything the systems flag. The core principle is simple: funds go back the way they came. We process withdrawals through the same method you used to deposit wherever that method supports withdrawals, which is the standard our licence sets and the cleanest way to confirm that the money belongs to you.
Withdrawals start at 30 AUD and are capped at 8,000 AUD per day and 32,000 AUD per month. Crypto withdrawals are processed within 24 hours, while cards and bank transfers take 1 to 3 business days. We charge no fees on withdrawals, and available methods include Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer, MiFinity, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Tether.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Minimum withdrawal | 30 AUD |
| Daily limit | 8,000 AUD |
| Monthly limit | 32,000 AUD |
| Crypto processing | Up to 24 hours |
| Cards and bank transfer | 1 to 3 business days |
| Withdrawal fees | None charged by us |
What Happens If Verification Fails
An account without completed verification cannot withdraw. That is the first and most common restriction, and it lifts the moment your documents pass review. If a document is unreadable, expired or does not match your account details, we tell you exactly what is wrong so you can supply a better version rather than guess.
Where documents are not provided at all, or where we cannot reconcile the information you have given us, we suspend the account pending review and hold any balance in place. We do not forfeit funds because verification was slow; we simply cannot release them until we know who we are paying. In cases involving suspected fraud, third-party payment details or unexplained funds, we may close the account and, where our licence requires it, file a report with the relevant authority before any balance is returned.
- Unverified accounts: play may continue, withdrawals are blocked.
- Failed documents: specific feedback is given, with a fresh submission window.
- No response after repeated requests: account suspension and a held balance.
- Suspected third-party funding or fraud: account closure, possible regulatory report, refund of any confirmed legitimate balance to the verified owner.
How Long We Keep Your Documents
We retain verification records for the period our licence requires after your relationship with us ends, because we must be able to show a regulator, on request, who played, when and how they were checked. Retention is not indefinite and it is not optional; deleting records early would breach the same rules that require us to collect them.
When the retention period expires, documents are deleted securely and permanently. Until then, they sit behind the access controls described earlier, and you can request confirmation of what we hold, or ask us to correct it, by writing to [email protected]. Our support team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to verify my account before I can deposit and play?
No. You can register, deposit and play with basic details. Full identity verification is completed before your first withdrawal, or earlier if our monitoring systems flag your account.
How long does verification take?
Standard document reviews are completed within 24 hours of upload. More complex cases, including source of funds requests, can take up to 3 business days.
Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?
As a rule of our AML policy, withdrawals are processed back to the same method you used to deposit wherever that method supports withdrawals. If it does not, we will arrange an alternative with you directly.
Why do you ask for source of funds on some accounts?
Our licence requires us to understand where larger amounts originate. If your deposits or withdrawals reach certain thresholds, we may ask for evidence such as payslips or bank statements to confirm the funds are legitimately yours.
